Candidates for local offices in Newport and Middletown, RI are invited to participate in public forums in advance of the November 8, 2022 general election. 

Forums will be hosted at Innovate Newport, 513 Broadway in Newport and via live stream. 

All events are free and open to the public. The schedule of the candidate forums is:

• Thursday, September 29, 6:30 pm: Newport School Committee candidates
• Thursday, October 6, 6:30 pm: Newport City Council at-large candidates
• Thursday, October 13, 6:30 pm: Middletown Town Council candidates
• Thursday, October 20, 6:30 pm: Middletown School Committee candidates

Involve Newport is partnering with Newport This Week, the League of Women Voters of  Newport County and the Greater Newport Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Committee to host these forums. 

Candidates for local office participating will provide statements and answer questions prepared by the hosting organizations. There will be an opportunity for members of the public to submit questions for the candidates during the forums.
