On October 18, iNvolve Newport joined Newport Partnership for Families and approximately 60 other local, community-based nonprofits for the annual presentation of Rhode Island Kids Count data. See the full presentation and snapshot data. The educational numbers were troubling but need to be viewed through a COVID lens. Particularly concerning was the increase in the percentage of Newport children who are living in poverty.
The data was presented by and a fireside chat was facilitated by Consuela Greene and Colette Stanzler of Root Cause. Thier contributions to the conversation in particular advocating for a framework of Collective Action by all partners may drive a way forward for our community.
