Rhode Island Kids Count – Data in Your Backyard

On October 18, iNvolve Newport joined Newport Partnership for Families and approximately 60 other local, community-based nonprofits for the annual presentation of Rhode Island Kids Count data.  See the full presentation and snapshot data.  The educational numbers were troubling but need to be viewed through a COVID lens.  Particularly concerning was the increase in the percentage of Newport children who are living in poverty.

The data was presented by and a fireside chat was facilitated by Consuela Greene and Colette Stanzler of Root Cause.  Thier contributions to the conversation in particular advocating for a framework of Collective Action by all partners may drive a way forward for our community.

We encourage our members to peruse the data and send us your comments and insights.
